Maybe this will seem like a "cop out" for today's entry, but I find it funny that after I made my post at My Adventures Blog on how I want to blog more, I stumbled upon this article from the NYTimes via New Basement Tapes.
I've had a lot of experience wishing that my blog would be so popular that news people would want to interview me, that I could make a few extra dollars on it (believe me I need it), and that it would make this big splash in Library Land or The Real World. People would have "flame wars" in my comments, I'd have to play moderator, people would know an online me.
I have learned it doesn't work that way and My Adventures blog might only have a handful of readers. I did get a comment from an author though which made my day. Surprisingly, I'm not deterred and I have no idea why. I get no comments here, but I post even if it wasn't for class. I get few comments at My Adventure blog, but I continue to TRY. I assume because at some point, someone will stumble upon it and find something useful, and save it, and pass it along.
I don't know, what I do know is that the blogs that ten to make it post semi-regularly, and generally have little to no interest in the beginning. This is what keeps me going. The possibility.
(Though it's hard when you don't like to reveal a lot of your life on the blog, but I'm learning that there is a fine line I don't have to cross. I can keep my privacy to a great extent. Thank you Twitter for that lesson).
